6Music mediaselector links confusion

6Music is no longer recordable in my application. The full string for the mediaselector is no longer available.

Go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/availability/6music.xml

select a link and paste it in the browser
<link type="mediaselector">
http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/mtis/stream/b052t0l6
</link>
>>result
<mediaSelection xmlns="http://bbc.co.uk/2008/mp/mediaselection">
<error id="notavailable"/>
</mediaSelection>

The BBC has changed the path to mediaselection links, but has not updated their availability listings. I can't find web documentation about this.

Using the canonical pid takes you to a page that has for multiple types of streams. High, low, uk, nonuk etc, but no complete url,

The new path is http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/5/select/version/2.0/mediaset/pc/vpid/

BBC AOD Links Info

AOD has been deprecated by BBC -  noted on 9/17/2020

I found a new source of information that looks promising. It has information about the On Demand XML links.

This i good! I have sussed out the way to get directly to a recordable link from

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/availability/radio4.xml

to get a pointer to http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/mtis/stream/b01bm04v
20160430 - now has links to dash and hls streams
>

<link transferformat="dash"type="mediaselector">
http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/5/redir/version/2.0/mediaset/audio-syndication-dash/proto/http/vpid/b0780jwf
</link>
<link transferformat="hls"type="mediaselector">
http://open.live.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/5/redir/version/2.0/vpid/b0780jwf/mediaset/audio-syndication/proto/http
</link>
</links>

that contains a link http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/asx/b01bm04v/iplayer_intl_stream_wma_lo_concrete

which is what I want to hand off to VLC

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/imda/imda_transports.xml 20160430 - live broadcast links. Not sure how to use.

BBC Images - Links

BBC IMAGES

Poking around on the web site, I found an image with the link http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/images/ic/640x360/p01sp5jj.jpg

p01sp5jj is the value of the image tag in the file http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007jlzj.xml

I wonder what other sizes are available?

how about 256x144 !
and 96x54

BBC Programs is the new place to go to get the tools to design a program to download and convert BBC Radio shows. It replaces the BBC API (glad I didn't code up too much;)
